We finally have bedroom furniture!

First of all, I am a terrible blogger.  I apologize for not posting anything for weeks and then bombing the site with 5 new blogs.  It seems as if I'm a little manic when it comes to this thing!  Nonetheless, here's the post everyone has been asking about....we finally got master bedroom furniture!

When we moved into this house we had two beds - one that I've had since I was about 18...

and one that I got on Craig's List just before we moved in.

Both beds were nice, but neither one was what we wanted for our master bedroom.  We figured we could just live in one of the guest bedrooms until we found some furniture and our master could just be another storage room.  Six long months later, we got this king sleigh bed suit from a very gracious family friend!  It consists of a king sleigh bed complete with tempurpedic-like mattress (shown here with some assembly shots) and two night stands (which happen to sit perfectly below each window on that wall),

armoire,

dresser with octagonal mirror,

and a captain's chest that was too large to fit in our room so we put it in one of the guest rooms (ignore the still un-finished remnants of the mirror collage on the bed)!

Trey and TJ moved it all from Nashville down to Montgomery in one day in TJ's sweet drag car trailer.

We can't thank him enough for helping us out because man, was that furniture heavy!

My plan was to get really nice bedding for this bed since it was "ours" but I haven't really had the time to follow through yet.  I'd love to get something in all white like this from Pottery Barn,

and paint the walls charcoal and use a dramatic color for window treatments and accent pillows but we'll see how that all works out.  I'm afraid Cooper will make it hard for us to keep white bedding white!

  1. 1. Love the bedroom furniture! I bet it was heavy, it looks like some really nice pieces! I bet the whole house feels more homey with your bedroom situated.
    2. Love the action shots of assembly. You are such a good blogger. Always remembering to take pics of the progress.
    3. YHL would be so proud of the octagonal mirror. :)
    4. Cooper looks huge!
